Summary

A New York Times Bestseller

A heartbreaking and raw story of love, regret, and the life-altering impact of the relationships we hold closest to us, perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover。

If he had been with me, everything would have been different…

Autumn and Finn used to be inseparable。 But then something changed。 Or they changed。 Now, they do their best to ignore each other。
Autumn has her boyfriend Jamie, and her close-knit group of friends。 And Finn has become that boy at school, the one everyone wants to be around。
That still doesn't stop the way Autumn feels every time she and Finn cross paths, and the growing, nagging thought that maybe things could have been different。 Maybe they should be together。
But come August, things will change forever。 And as time passes, Autumn will be forced to confront how else life might have been different if they had never parted ways…

this was a 4。5 star read for me。 i personally really liked the setting of this book being taken in a high school journey of two childhood friends being in different friend groups being “separated” from each other。 alot of people cried at the end but i didnt LMAO。 the ending was abrupt and the main character was alittle annoying at some parts。 overall i recommend this book to anyone who likes colleen hover lol。 (the sex scenes were not called for at all, my ratings changed bc of that LOL)

Wow what a story。 I think it was well written, showing teens and relationships。 You could see where the story was going with the title but it still hit like a punch to the gut。 This book will haunt me for awhile。

Denise

Kind of like a Nicholas Sparks book with a little happier ending, but just a little。 What an emotional roller coaster though。 I think I want to throw up。

I honestly did not like this book。 It was slow and strange and the ending came so suddenly。 There was no build up。 I would rate it a 2。5/5 stars。

4/5 stars ⭐️ This book had no right to be this sad。 My heart is broken。 That is all。 I’ll be gone for 3-5 business days。

I enjoyed this book so much from beginning to end。 The romance between the two characters。 Was few slow moments at times and it felt as if it was repeating in parts but the way it ended had me wanting more of the story。

I'm not really sure where exactly I'd like to start with this book, but it earned an award from me。 The award for "worst book I've read since I was 17"。 Someone give it a gold medal, I dare you。 Again, I am not sure where to start。 I finished this entire book in a few hours during a slow shift at work and I'm so glad I didn't waste any more time with it。 ~ The tone of this novel is god-awful。 I mean, it literally reads like the one kid the teacher calls on to read out loud in class and can't。 It I'm not really sure where exactly I'd like to start with this book, but it earned an award from me。 The award for "worst book I've read since I was 17"。 Someone give it a gold medal, I dare you。 Again, I am not sure where to start。 I finished this entire book in a few hours during a slow shift at work and I'm so glad I didn't waste any more time with it。 ~ The tone of this novel is god-awful。 I mean, it literally reads like the one kid the teacher calls on to read out loud in class and can't。 It's choppy, it doesn't flow, there are no embellishments, it's just the most washed-up wording on a page (I did this。 We did this。 We went here。 They went here。) you could come up with。 I can see how someone would make the argument that's how a high school-aged kid would process things but my god; PAINFUL。 I've read other YA novels where the character could at least piece emotions together to form some sort of an original thought, but not this one。 I found myself staring at the page without actually reading anything because I was getting so bored。 ~ Autumn, quite possibly, might be the worst main character of a book I've ever come across。 And I mean。。 Ever。 I thought I disliked Katniss when I was reading the Hunger Games sometimes, but Autumn truly outdid that。 She was a narcissist, conceited, and was everything you'd imagine a "pick me girl" to be。 Literally the embodiment of the 'I'm not like other girls, I'm quirky' TikTok audio。 She emotionally cheated the entirety of her relationship with Jamie, and to top it off dated him for way too long。 Plus, he was a creep。 It was just boring。 Like many other reviews have stated here, nothing happened for 28 chapters。 And I powered through it because everyone had been raving for weeks about this story。 It was so obvious for the entirety of this miserable work of fiction Finn was doing everything he could to show her his feelings, and she truly couldn't have given less of a shit。 When I say it was infuriating, it actually evoked anger。 ~ I think if it had been a dual POV with Autumn and Finn it would have been a whole lot more palatable than just her dumbass musings and horrendously sculpted thought processes for 500 pages。~ ** SPOILER PARAGRAPH** The ending was predictable。 I could have told you from the start Finn died。 I also could have told you that the second they mentioned sex without a condom, she'd end up pregnant right after he died。 It was too transparent。 I couldn't tell if I cried when Finn died because the book was finally over or because Laura Nowlin managed to murder off the one character that made any sense to me。 Everyone say "thank you, Laura"。If I could give this -9 stars I think I would。 I couldn't tell you why anyone's freaking out about this, but if they are, they probably also think Colleen Hoover is god。 And that's not a compliment。 。。。more

the writing quality is average。 it was easy to read, but it got me to invested。 the ending left me sick and empty though。 it was painful and sad。 but good。 i did sorta put the pieces together but it still was a very good book

The whole book, you’re waiting for that gut-wrenching ending, the one that’s going to rip your soul apart and make you sob。 Who cares if the rest of the book is just okay, you tell yourself。 It will all pay off in the end。 And then the ending has about as much emotional depth and time to breathe as a kid ending a story with “and everyone dies。 The end”Safe to say I was disappointed。

a beautiful book。 i finished it in 2 days because of how captivating the writing was。 never in my life have i read something as beautiful as this book, and now it is one of my favorites。 whoever taught laura nowlin to write this amazingly, i really have to thank them。 this book filled a hole in my soul i never knew i had, and i relate to Autumn so much it amazes me。 thank you for writing this masterpiece。

The book was good but not my favorite。 Really slow to be honest but the ending is what shook me the most。

This book started out pretty slow, and I feel like beginning dragged on a bit。 This book also seemed geared towards the high school level。 I did, however, enjoy this book。 Towards the end I couldn’t put it down, and the ending had me in shock。

damn… ngl i hated the majority of this book and almost dnfed it but the last bit was so difficult because you know the ending from the very beginning but since the writing is so bad(cringey) you kinda forget and that damn tiara I HATE THAT PART BUT I HATE THAT THEY GOT ME WITH LIKE THE LAST CHAPTERS AND THEN THEY TORE ME APART WTF :AND ITS THE MOST BASIC STORYLINE OF INNOCENCE/ GROWING INTO ADULTHOOD but still it got me。

I think this is the last time I listen to BookTok, they've done me dirty just too many times now。 But THIS, this is probably the most disappointed I've been。 I was in the mood for sad and this was the most recommended to fit the bill。 Tears were practically promised, and I finished with bone dry eyes。 And I'm an emotional person! When reviews said the ending was sad, they really meant the ending ending, like last 5%。 For me, the other 95% just didn't make up for it especially since we are alread I think this is the last time I listen to BookTok, they've done me dirty just too many times now。 But THIS, this is probably the most disappointed I've been。 I was in the mood for sad and this was the most recommended to fit the bill。 Tears were practically promised, and I finished with bone dry eyes。 And I'm an emotional person!
